Video Review

While watching the 3 video I learned a lot.  It was interesting to learn in Through the Eyes of a Sculptor that the artist has to have the love of shape and form.  It was also interesting to learn about the many steps a sculptor has to take before actually taking a chisel to the stone or ceramic tile.  While watching Glass and Ceramics I learned that the application are limitless.  It was also interesting the glass and ceramic are made from sand and once placed into fire it hardens up to form the piece of art you are looking to create.  And watching Installation Art was enjoyable because I learned in more detail about installation art.  And how installation art is defined as taking over a space.

While watching these video I did realize that there were many relations to the text book.  In regards to sculpting it was related due to images and piece of artwork that were created.  Piece such as Michelangelo's Statue of David piece is a famous piece that is often referred to when someone is discussing sculpture.  While reading about glass and ceramics and watching the video there were many similarities.  One major similarities is how there is so much architecture that is made from glass. And while watching installation art and reading it the thing that seemed more related was how installation is nearly endless.  Things such as a ship or artwork in general are described as installation art.

I thought that these video's were interesting.  Although it was kind of repetitive seeing things in a visual aspect opposed to a written aspect is good to learn from.  I did learn more after watching these video's.  For me it is personally more interesting to see video or picture opposed to reading material to learn something better.
